Then, Boy said to me 'look in the garden!' so I did. Two new chickens had appeared in the chicken arc.
He did not put them there, and neither did I.
I highly doubt the dogs could resist the delicious chickeny snacks on legs enough to herd them into a run.

So I guess my brother snuck them in.
Jim is the grey one, he was there already. He is a boy, but the two ladies are much bigger than him. I hope he can assert himself as the boss. I don't think I blogged about it at the time, but my other five chickens got eaten by a fox a little while back, Jim made it through because he had his own run on account of the other two blokes duffing him up. I hope he enjoys having some company again :)
They do not have names yet, I am very excited about this opportunity to name things as I love doing this. If you have any suggestions, please go ahead!
I am glad the chickens created an opening into this post to prevent it being a collection of unconnected ramblings- at least it has a sort of topic. I have been feeling a tad uninspired this week, and it's been hard to take photos because of the dark nights (hello blogger problems) but here's a little low down on this and that.
On Thursday I was struck down by a mystery... infliction at work. I felt fine all morning, then my tummy went a bit odd at about 11.30, but I thought 'hey ho, show must go on.' I walked the kids down to lunch, feeling progressively odder. In the dinner hall a colleague asked me 'are you OK?' because I had gone all white. I whimpered 'no...', feeling like I was going to fall down, and they whisked me away. I really felt like I was going to faint, I went hot and cold and even cried a bit (how embarrassing). They sent me home, I fell into bed and slept all afternoon. The mystery tummy ache went away, and I felt OK, just like a bit of a weak kitten.
I didn't go in on Friday, mainly because I was terrified of it happening again, and I still didn't feel myself. I forced myself to relax at home, just taking the dogs out in the sunshine and catching up with my Mum and brothers. I may have also watched three episodes of The Big Reunion, and it is amazing. B*Witched were my ultimate fave band (other than The Spice Girls, obvs) so I found it really interesting to see more about them and where they went. And 5ive seem like a bunch of tits.

Yesterday Boy went off on an exciting family trip to visit his sister, so I was on Dog Patrol. We went on a longer walk, I had a jolly exciting excursion to the supermarket and... not much else. I had potato croquettes, watched Whip It, three episodes of How I Met Your Mother and sat in and around the bed. I felt really really tired!

Sunday= Zumba day! And what a beautiful day it is too. Zumba kicked my butt, as usual. I am feeling so stiff, probably because I haven't done any stretches or strength for a few days, so I have been doing some random yoga in the living room whilst watching Four in the Bed.

I found a couple of other pictures on my camera which I will explain...
Last weekend Boy was a bit hyper and decided he wanted to bake, so we made 'chocolate fudge brownies'. The recipe was weird and had no eggs so was basically shortbread with icing on, which explains the inverted commas, but it was still delish. Sprinkles make everything all right.
I used these two fellas. If anyone is interested I will blog about them in more detail, but I am shite at this kind of review as photos are necessary but I hate posting photos of myself.
Off to rinse the macadamia goop off my head now! I am getting inducted at my new job tomorrow, no half term for me, but it's good to get started innit.
And what should we name the chickens?
xxx

I really really want chickens in my garden! I'm not entirely sure what it is about them I like but I really do! Even though picking them up scares me half to death! My friend has them and I'm always a bit wussy around them! One of hers is actually called Soup - as in chicken soup (this is probably a bit cruel but it was funny at the time!)

I've bought the wild ombre, but haven't had the guts to use it yet, so I would love a review!
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love to have chickens one day! I suppose I need to get myself a garden and become a bit more of a grown up first though (cat and 3 guinea pigs are enough to keep my hands full for now) xx
