After my world book day costumes post I hot footed it down to the new MK1 retail park in Bletchley after work on Thursday. I love to leave things until the last minute, and had high hopes that the Primark would hold lots of cheap costumes props. I don't know what it is about me and big stores, but I found it hard to find any inspiration. It was all very airy and tidy and well laid out, but where were the rails of reduced tat that I had come to expect from Primark? Had I been on a non-fancy dress buying, normal clothes mission I know I would have filled my basket, especially with pretty dresses.
In the end I used none of my previous ideas, and went as a Dalmatian. This was futile, as all the kids thought I was a cow.
H&M's kid's department came up trumps in the end, and I got a spotty cape and the ears, which are clearly meant for small heads and thus squeezed my brain uncomfortably. I enjoyed tripping around the shops at the retail park, it was cool to have my favourites all in one space. I liked the H&M the best, and found so much I wanted to buy. I restrained myself to this jumper, which I love.
I also found these hair ties in the kids department. I am someone who always has a hair band on their wrist, sometimes cutting off the blood to my hand and generally looking a bit scruffy. These are so pretty, don't snag and look good on the wrist. I wish I had got the pink ones too!
I enjoyed browsing the Primark jewellery, and got a three pack of bracelets for £1.50. I'm not fussed about two of them, but really like this arrow one.
And when in Primark, getting socks is a necessity.
The day of dressing up and general bookish festivities at school coincided with my last day there. I was sad to say goodbye to the kids and everyone, but I know moving on is the right decision. I need to get into higher paying jobs and move my career on. Even so, I will miss them.
I got some lovely going away presents. I was most excited to get flowers, as I never have flowers and don't buy them for the house. I might start doing so, this one bouquet filled three vases and makes the rooms look so pretty.
I also got choccies, a teddy, a pretty watch and lots and lots of homemade cards.
Onwards and upwards, eh?
This weekend I am going to chill before I start New Job properly on Monday. Planning to pub lunch it up soon, get back into Zumba tomorrow now I am pretty much healed after my weeks of illness. Then get back on the old nine to five. Eek, hard work and responsibility here I come!
